God stifles peace, presses with oblivion,
Calls into the sterile-white temple.
But I pray: hold on for life,
Sink into my bodily ocean.
Through the thickness of years, where time congeals,
Wipe this dream-mist from your eyes:
There – the ice of stars, here – the heat of my palms,
We are prisoners of bodies drinking wild fire.
Your pulse is a challenge to the dead heights,
A slap in the face to a base “someday.”
Let God paint eternity on the wall –
Cling to my “now” with all your heart.
Let His mute, cold distance
Rant to you about empty azure –
I will guard our breath that vibrates,
For He does not know how desire burns.
It is sacrilege – my final act:
I conquered the Creator with jealousy.
Striving for a glance – only one,
I tore you from the sky with blood.
Let Him be the lord of wastes and peaks,
I swore to be your “tomorrow”:
To love the mortal is the highest of prayers,
