Previous reflections on the vertical, language, and metaphysical void were based on the presupposition of an active subject \u2013 one who consciously holds the axis. However, there exists a limit experience in which this center is no longer felt. This is not the discovery of a new truth, but the limit of the instrument: a state in which human consciousness is physically and mentally no longer capable of holding the tension of presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this point, the vertical ceases to be a direction of movement. Language disintegrates into fragments that cannot be stitched into meaning. The void, which previously was a space for prayer or attention, becomes pure, exhausting powerlessness. If we assume that the Axis exists only at the moment we feel it, we turn ontology into psychology. But decay is registered by us as decay only because, within the coordinate system of our thinking, there still exists a logical limit from which this chaos deviates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is important to realize: the extreme experience of catastrophe does not change fundamental ontological conditions. The state of exhaustion of the subject does not define the structure of the entire Universe. The center is not a psychological compensation or a comforting illusion meant to save us from fear. It does not depend on our psychic resilience and does not disappear at the moment we lose the ability to conceive it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thinking at the point of decay is the recognition that our personal exhaustion is not total. Our paralysis does not mean the world stops. The very fact that we perceive chaos as something \u201cwrong\u201d already contains the presupposition of a structure that existed before us and will remain after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Decay is an event. It has a beginning, a duration, and an end. It is a dynamic process of destruction occurring in time. Structure is not an event. It does not happen, nor does it pass. It is a timeless framework that makes life, death, and decay itself possible.
