Your apophatic path – the way of negation – requires radical detachment (Gelassenheit), a complete cutting away of the will and any attachment to the material world. Yet today, such emptiness changes the very status of history for a human being. A danger arises: apophatic consciousness so reduces the emotional dimension of an event that it creates the risk of ontological neutralization of pain. If the void is merely a condition for meeting the divine Source, might it not become a convenient form of ignoring the tragic fact here and now?

But true detachment is not a cowardly escape from the world, but a renunciation of the illusion of control over it. The void does not cancel action – it removes self-admiration for that action. True detachment is not distance or indifference; it is the cleansing of your responsibility from superfluous noise, egotistical expectations, and the thirst for recognition. When you are empty, you do not act because you expect a reward, but because the very structure of your being does not allow you to act otherwise.

Silence is a refusal to allow catastrophe to define your internal center. It is an almost impossible capacity to remain in the very epicenter of a rupture while maintaining a void within that cannot be filled with fear. In this state, your Vertical does not deny history and does not dissolve into it. It simply does not allow an external event to become your only Absolute.

Apophaticism does not cancel responsibility toward the Other. It only cancels the childish illusion that your responsibility guarantees anything or will necessarily bring a result. You hold the axis not because the world will become better, but because holding the axis is the only form of presence available to you.

You taught that truth is born in the soul only where it is empty.
