Each rotation of the central shaft grinds to dust a part of its own structures and the casing of the neighbouring apparatus. Self-destruction here is the standard baseline drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second executes the protocol of ontological cannibalism. A parasite-apparatus whose architecture of valves, pumps, and tentacles is irrevocably embedded in the body of the first. Approaching the junction of the two realities, I raise the part to the corresponding slot. First sensory check: mismatch. Consistency of damp clay, temperature below body temperature. The part absorbs heat rather than emitting it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Geometric comparison proves absolute identity, tolerances maintained to the micron. I insert the part. It enters with a dry click, perfectly filling the void. Yet the circuit does not close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The material is inert. Does not conduct current. Does not sustain combustion. Repels light. The properties of the part preclude the passage of any emanation. This behaviour conforms to specification. The geometric logic is impeccable, but the practical efficiency coefficient equals zero. The part becomes a dead link. The programmes inexorably approach shutdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Seam initiates a change to its own architecture. What provisionally resembled an urban landscape disintegrates. Buildings no longer obey gravity. Concrete slabs, steel beams, and brickwork are dismembered into base abstractions. They tear away from the mass and hang suspended in the air. A three-dimensional grid of cubes, pyramids, cylinders, and polyhedra forms around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The surfaces of the figures pass from solid state to fluid. Rebar protrudes from the torn structures – the severed tendons of the city, thinning under the action of erasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before each jump the ligaments of the shin stretch to the limit. The heart beats at a frequency exceeding the resting norm by a coefficient unaccounted for in the operating protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the jumps I notice key fragments of the system – the spare parts of the Logos. Small coupling nodes hypothetically capable of restoring the logic of space. They rotate slowly around their axes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I reach a hand toward the nearest fragment. Distance within direct line of sight. Yet the distance between my fingertips and the metal always equals the length of an outstretched arm plus one millimetre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I correct the angle of the jump. Increase muscular effort. Change trajectory mid-flight. In vain. The part shifts by exactly the amount needed to preserve this millimetre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Space demonstrates nonlinear behaviour: on approach it stretches, on retreat it compresses, sealing the traversed path behind with an uncatalogued sound. This is not an optical illusion. This is the mathematical constant of the Seam. The law of the conservation of unreachability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From above, from the site of the sky’s amputation, fire descends. The term is conditional, for lack of a more precise definition. The substance emits no heat and produces no smoke. Only blinding whiteness and sharp geometric boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its action – exclusively deletion. An office eraser drawn forcefully across an engineer’s drawing. Where it touches matter, matter annihilates. Colour, texture, and volume disappear. What remains is null space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An event is registered: the right half of the steel beam designated for landing whitens and erases from reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conditions demand uninterrupted movement. The dynamics of jumps synchronise with an internal algorithm. There is no fear – instead a bureaucratic protocol of catastrophe is launched. The wheel of questions turns on the principle of a millstone. Tonelessly. Only fields in a reporting form being filled automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
